BRIEF DESCRIPTION:  Special Agents are involved with the planning and conducting of investigations relating to alleged and/or suspected violations of US laws, and laws according to the Uniformed Code of Military Justice. Special Agents are involved with conducting criminal investigations, protective services, counterterrorism and counterintelligence services for the Department of the Navy. Special Agents are also responsible for conducting investigation dealing with computer fraud, homicides, rape, robbery, etc. Work involving surveillance, forensics, technical support, polygraph services and white collar crimes, are also the responsibility of Special Agents. These positions require a primary knowledge of investigative techniques and a knowledge of laws and evidence, rules of criminal procedure, precedent court decisions concerning admissibility of evidence and search & seizure related issues. Special Agents may be called upon to do surveillance and/ or undercover work.

TRAINING:  Special Agents will attend a fourteen week training school at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center at Glynco, Georgia.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Must be a US citizen. Applicants must fall between the ages of 21 and 35 years of age. Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. Must pass all Navy standards. Must pass a background investigation. Applicants that possess investigative experience will be considered. Must be willing to serve afloat.
