THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE OFFICE OF THE INSPECTOR GENERAL POSITION: CRIMINAL INVESTIGATOR The Department of Agriculture - Law Enforcement Division Office of the Inspector General ATTN: Personnel Operations 14th Street and Independence Avenue, SW Washington, DC 20250 GRADES: GS-5 thru GS-9BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Criminal Investigators are involved with the planning and conducting of investigations relating to alleged and/or suspected violations of the law, program or property abuse within the Department of Agriculture. These positions require a primary knowledge of investigative techniques and a knowledge of laws and evidence, rules of criminal procedure, precedent court decisions concerning admissibility of evidence and search & seizure related issues. Criminal Investigators may be called upon to do surveillance and/ or undercover work. TRAINING: Criminal Investigators will attend a nine week training school at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center at Glynco, Georgia. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a US citizen. Applicants must fall between the ages of 21 and 37 years of age. Must possess a valid state driver’s license. Must pass a background investigation. Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws or investigative experience preferred. |
